Parents & Carergivers

Creating a space for you, so you can hold space for them.

As a parent or caregiver, you know your child better than anyone. You may have noticed subtle shifts in their mood, more tears, more silence, more anger; perhaps a teacher has raised concerns, or family life feels tense and unpredictable.

Recognising that your child may need support, and knowing how to respond, can feel like two very different things. At REST, we understand the weight of these early concerns. Sometimes, the next step is therapy; other times, it begins with expert guidance before challenges escalate.

You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. Simply speaking with a professional can help you feel clearer, calmer, and more confident in supporting your child, whether therapy is the immediate next step or not. That’s why we offer dedicated advisory services for parents and carers providing timely, compassionate, evidence-based guidance from qualified psychologists.

Research consistently shows that early, practical support for parents is one of the most effective ways to promote sustained wellbeing in children. No parent should navigate these challenges alone, having the right support can make a meaningful difference. When caregivers feel informed, empowered and connected, they are better able to respond to challenges and create environments where children can thrive.

At REST, we hold this principle at the heart of our work. Our approach is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and rooted in the belief that real change is sustained when families are supported at every level.

Support Starts With You

Parents & Carers Compass Session

When concerns arise about a child’s emotional wellbeing whether it’s changes in mood, behaviour, or social interactions, it can be hard to know where to begin. Should you wait and see? Speak to a teacher? Start therapy? What is part of  typical development, and what’s not?

Many parents face uncertainty, unsure of where to turn or what type of support will truly help.

The REST Parent Compass Session provides a supportive, structured space to explore your concerns with a qualified psychologist. This one-off, 50 minute remote consultation offers expert, time-sensitive input without the commitment of ongoing therapy.

It is an opportunity to be heard, supported and advised. This session will help  you better understand what may be happening for your child, feel more informed, and better equipped to take meaningful next steps for your child and family.

REST offers evidence-based workshops and training designed to increase mental health understanding and equip you with practical, effective tools for supporting wellbeing across families, educational settings, and wider communities.

Each session is led by the REST team and thoughtfully tailored to your needs, goals, and audience.
